Rust Monuments aren’t just eye-catching—they’re your ticket to survival, loot, and progress. From beginner-friendly venues to high-risk, high-reward challenges, each monument tells its own story and tests your skills. If you’re like me, knowing where to go and what to expect can save you a lot of wasted time (and respawns).
Level 0 Monument: Beginner Friendly and Radiation Free
When you’re just starting out, these monuments are your best friends. No radiation, low conflict, and decent loot make it perfect for collecting important items.
- Lighthouse: These lighthouses, often located along the coastline, are simple places to collect barrels and crates. It’s usually not too busy, so you can focus on gathering resources without too much trouble.
- Oxum gas station: This one is a bit more popular, so be prepared to meet other players. Still, it’s full of recyclers, crates, and food boxes. A solid place to get ready quickly.
- Abandoned Supermarket: Similar to Oxum’s, supermarkets stock food, recycling, and the occasional military crate. This is a great stop when your supplies are running low.
- Mining Post: A little bit of luck. You’ll find a recycler and a few crates here, but it can feel barren at times. Still, it’s worth checking if it’s on your route.
- Junkyard: Apparently underutilized. Crates and barrels where junk is scattered make it a low-risk, medium-reward location.

Level 1 Monument: Low Radiation, Better Looting
Once you’ve got the basic equipment and protection, it’s time to upgrade. These monuments have better loot but have less radiation—so bring the right clothing.
- Harbor: Large area with recycler, green card access, and lots of crates. This is great for mid-game looting, but keep an eye out for other players.
- Airfield: This is one of my go-to places when I have a green card. The Airfield has barrels, chests, and two puzzle rooms with great rewards. Watch out for snipers!
- Water Treatment Plant: A favorite among mid-level players, this monument offers solid loot, including military chests, along with puzzles that require green cards.
- Satellite Dish: Concise but useful. You’ll find recyclers and some good loot here, especially if you have a green card.
- Dome: The Dome is about risk and reward. It’s parkour heaven, and if you can climb it, you’ll find some of the best loot. However, there are no recyclers here.

Monument Level 2: High Risk, High Reward

These are the heavy hitters. They are full of loot but require proper preparation. You will need strong cover, weapons and a lot of courage to overcome this area.
- Site Launch: This is a big one. Lots of elite chests, heavy radiation and frequent PvP encounters. Bring your A-game and don’t forget a hazmat suit.
- Military Tunnel: Full of high-end scientists and loot, this is a dangerous but rewarding location. Make sure you are fully armed.
- Oil Rigs: Accessible by boat or helicopter, the Oil Rig is a plundered gold mine. Be prepared to face scientists and possibly other players looking to pick a fight.
- Power plant: Another monument that contains high levels of radiation, but the loot is worth it. Solve puzzles here to access high-level rewards.

Final Tips
In my experience, planning your monument trip is very important. Start small, build up your equipment, and gradually take over more challenging areas. Always carry enough radiation protection and be careful of other players—especially on high-level monuments.
If you’re new, focus on mastering Tier 0 and Tier 1 locations before diving into more dangerous spots.
